The small circle of gold she held in her hand caught the moonlight. It was a dull gold, come from years of wear, but to her eyes it shined as if it were brand new. She had nearly murdered the man who had handed her this ring, and as much as she wanted to follow through, as much as she rationalized the world would be a better place for it, she couldn't.

In giving her this ring, Ben had given her back hope. He had given Jin back to her.

He had traded the one thing that mattered for his life. And it had worked.
