Post-'Chosen', slayers are popping up everywhere, and as they rise, Buffy begins to lose her mind as a result. She goes to Angel, as she's forgetting things, including herself, and remembering others, including when he was human for a day. I never thought of something like this before this fic, but, in a way, it makes perfect sense. And the ending...wow. This fic is incredibly poweful, and beautifully written.
This fic reminds me of when Landry gave his speech to Tyra, asking if she wanted someone to see her for the smart, beautiful, caring woman that she was. Because I believe, and this fic shows, that that's how Tyra wants to be seen, as more than just a pretty girl, and that's how Landry sees her. It's a beautiful piece, and I feel Tyra in every word of it.
In an effort to cheer him up after his break-up with Angela, Pam and Jim have Dwight over for a TV marathon, and they watch Buffy. Dwight's choice. As a fan of the Pam/Dwight/Jim friendship and of Buffy, I expected this fic to be fun and awesome, but it was even better than I expected it to be. You learn Dwight and Pam's shipping perspectives, you see Jim's reaction to seeing the show for the first time, and it's all tied together in a nice little bundle where, in true Office form, you get touching moments mixed in with the funny ones.
The only FNL fic I have bookmarked is You Won't Catch Me Round Here by pene, Lila and Tyra and their love-hate relationship with kick-ass, note-perfect characterization.
Yay! I need more FNL fic in my life! Oddly enough, the more I think about Season 1, the more I'm beginning to appreciate Lyla. I mean, she bugged me and I found it hard to have sympathy for her while I was watching it but, man. The more I think about 'It's Different for Girls', the more I just can't not feel for her, and start to maybe get her a bit more.
And paired with Tyra...their antagonistic relationship is one that I've always found incredibly interesting, so, yay! I have some FNL fic to read!
