When Miles shoves Ben’s picture in her face and demands to know where he is – as if she’s protecting him, as if she would ever do something like that – she wishes that he was still with them. Relief had flooded her when Ben had left with John, when he was no longer near her and she felt his toxic presence lifting, following him away.

But, she supposes it should be of no surprise to her that, in going with John, Ben seems to have cheated death yet again. Because it’s very clear to her from the way Miles had stalked up to her, demanded information of her, that he means Ben nothing but harm. She isn’t scared of Miles, because he’s angry. Angry like her. What she hides under a blank face, he shows to her freely.

Juliet wishes that she had Ben to give him. She wishes she could throw him, broken and bloody, at Miles’s feet and let him do with him what he would. Whatever it was, Ben would deserve it. Ben has, without a doubt, earned it.

Juliet wishes she had Ben to give to Miles, but she supposes that it really shouldn’t surprise her that, yet again, he is one step ahead of everyone.
