fosfomifira’s birthday. Yes, it is a month gone at this point, but my muse
just now got around to doing a
happy Sun/Sawyer piece for her, just like she wanted. I hope you like it, sweetie! Also used for

Jae had her read a book in English as one of her first lessons. She had only understood every hundredth word or so at the time, but as their lessons had begun to progress, he had asked her to read it again. By the third time, she understood nearly every word, and the words she hadn’t understood, she had written down and studied until she understood
every last word.
To say that Sun is shocked when Sawyer hands her
The Secret Garden is an understatement. She gapes at it, and him, in utter surprise, accepting it slowly and turning its pages as if she is afraid that they will disintegrate beneath her touch. Sawyer watches her with a small smile, finding it surprisingly fascinating to see things from the outside, to watch someone falling in love with an old favorite all over again.
“You remembered,” she says, mystified by what she holds in her hands, and by the man who had just given it to her. He chuckles and ducks his head.
“Of course I remembered,” he replies heartily, doing his best to sound a little insulted. Sun smiles through it, though, clutching the book to her chest like it’s her most prized possession. Sawyer drops the act then, and smiles back.
“So...did you want to read it to me?” she asks and Sawyer smirks in reply, scoots in the sand until he’s settled between her legs, his back against her chest, and opening the book to page one. He holds it out to her.
“Nope,” he answers. “I want you to read it to
me.” He looks up just in time to watch the smile begin to crawl across Sun’s face. She opens her mouth to speak, but words, the
right words to express
exactly what Sawyer’s gift means to her, fail her. She thinks that they may not exist, in Korean or English.
So she doesn’t speak at all, only places a gentle kiss on Sawyer’s right temple, leans back against the poll supporting her tent, and starts the book all over again.
